NEW courses teaching digital photography are on offer.

Places are available on a course for beginners at Marsden Mechanics Hall on Saturday, February 7.

But a beginners’ workshop at Slaithwaite Civic Hall on Saturday, January 24, is fully booked.

The workshops are being held as part of the photography competition being run to find images for the 2010 Upper Colne Valley calendar.

They are intended to encourage people new to digital photography to take part in the annual contest.

But they are open to anyone interested in learning how to get the best out of their digital camera.

The instructor is Patrick Crowley, a professionally trained photographer who runs digital photography courses at Oakwell Hall Country Park, Birstall, where he is a park ranger.

To book a place on the Marsden workshop contact Marsden Information Point on Peel Street (phone 01484 845595).

The workshop will be from 10am to 4.30pm and costs £15 (£12 with a Kirklees Passport).
