Court briefs: Travelling on train without paying and other cases heard by Kirklees magistrates

Huddersfield magistrates recorded the following decisions on April 6:

Callum Clinton Myers (28), Savile Street, Milnsbridge. Assault. Fined £275 with £50 compensation, £28 victim surcharge and £100 costs.

Nomatemba Ncube (47), Scott Vale, Huddersfield. False representation to claim benefits. Prison for 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Huddersfield magistrates recorded the following decisions on April 7:

Aaran Lee Barden (23), Manchester Road, Milnsbridge. Assault. Community order for six months and ordered to pay £90 fine, £50 compensation, £60 victim surcharge and £50 costs.

Kyle Nathan Harrison (28), Bishops Court, Huddersfield. Breach of community order. Order revoked. Charged with theft, failing to surrender to custody, burglary and in possession of an offensive weapon. Community order for nine months and ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge.

Luke Augustine (28), Pyenot Avenue, Cleckheaton. Obstructing a police officer and driving without insurance. Fined £200 with £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs (6pts).

Lewis Field (19), New Avenue, Kirkheaton. Assault. Conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

Mark Andrew Traverse (33), Gledholt Bank, Gledholt. Theft. Conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £15 compensation, £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

William Smith (35), Bishops Court, Berry Brow. Travelling on a train without a valid ticket. Fined £440 with £44 victim surcharge and £150 costs.

Jack Wallis (21), Sheardale, Holmfirth. Travelling on a train without a valid ticket and providing wrong name and address. Fined £100 with £20 victim surcharge and £100 costs and £1.50 compensation.

Kieron Joe Marney (37), Moorbottom, Honley. Breach of community order. Order revoked. Charged with burglary, failing to surrender to custody and failing to attend assessment. Prison for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge.
