A FORMER vet heads the latest shortlist of people wanted by the police after failing to turn up in court.

Alan Roderick Tait, 58, used to work in the Holmfirth area.

A warrant was issued by Huddersfield Magistrates on November 29 last year after he failed to turn up in court to face traffic offences.

Two other wanted men have also been named.

Paul Heywood, 31 – who was last known to live in the Moldgreen area – was charged with assault, but failed to turn up at Huddersfield Magistrates on November 1 last year.

Police are now releasing the names and ages of people wanted on warrant along with the charges they face.

The names will keep be published over the coming weeks and months so police have strongly urged anyone who is wanted on warrant to turn themselves in now or face having their name in the Examiner.

Police say trying to track down the bail bandits ties up valuable police time which they would rather spend out on patrol.

At the moment police have 170 people wanted on warrant in Huddersfield – but some of these stretch back years and the fugitives may have even fled abroad.

The first three to be named on Monday have not yet been caught.

They are:

Stuart Graham Rawson who failed to appear at Huddersfield Magistrates Court on September 11 last year in connection with a burglary.

He is 40 years old and was last known to be living in Lindley.

Philip Joseph Heathcote, 25, who failed to appear at Huddersfield Magistrates Court on October 19 last year charged in connection with an assault. He was last known to be living in the Bradley area.

Brian Davies, 46, who used to live in Almondbury, failed to appear at Calderdale Magistrates Court on October 19 last year charged in connection with a vehicle offence.

If you know where any of these three men are phone Det Sgt Jim Carter from Kirklees CID intelligence unit on 01484 436675, the police switchboard on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 for a possible cash reward. .
