The church’s social and fundraising committee organised a craft fair at St Mark’s Community and Parish Hall.

As well as arts and crafts, there were book and cake stalls.

Committee member Liz Gray said: “There was a reasonable turn-out, although it could have been better.

“But, as we kept saying, if you don’t try things, you don’t get anywhere. It’s better to raise a little than nothing at all.”

The fair on Saturday followed a concert with a brass band on Friday evening, which was to raise money for disabled facilities.

The money from the craft fair will be used for general church funds.
