TWO vehicles collided before one veered into a wall at a known accident blackspot.

The crash happened in Birkby Hall Road at the junction with Grimscar Avenue, Birkby, yesterday when a Toyota Prius clipped a vehicle and then hit a wall.

Police were called to the scene at around 7.58am. No-one was injured.

The incident happened at the same spot where a police car, responding to a 999 call, was in collision with a vehicle carrying five passengers.

A baby suffered serious injuries in the crash on January 6.

An investigation into that incident was initially referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission but has since been handed back to West Yorkshire Police.

The incident is currently being investigated by the force’s major collision enquiry team.
