TRAFFIC on one of Huddersfield’s main roads ground to a halt after a rush hour crash.

Queues developed on the Queensgate stretch of the ring road after a blue BMW smashed into the metal road barriers near Huddersfield University yesterday morning.

No other vehicle was involved. Police were called to deal with the incident, at about 7.15am.

The driver, believed to be from Brighouse, was uninjured and no-one else was hurt.
