A PASSENGER injured in a crash in Birkby remains in hospital with neck injuries. The man, who has not been named, was the front seat passenger in a gold-coloured Toyota Yaris that smashed through a hoarding on Blacker Road at 8.20pm on Monday evening and then hit a mud bank before careering back through the hoarding and rolling over. The driver was arrested later and is now on police bail pending further inquiries. Five people – three men and two women – were in the car. Three were not badly hurt, but a man in the back seat suffered a facial cut that has needed specialist treatment at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The passenger with neck injuries has had surgery at Leeds General Hospital and is in a comfortable condition.
