A MARKETING agency in Huddersfield has been handed business worth £250,000 in a tie-up with a leading creative agency.

Bang, based at King’s Mill Lane, has struck a partnership deal with Propaganda, which was founded in Huddersfield and now has offices in Leeds.

The deal will see Propaganda “outsourcing” £250,000 of work to Bang over the next 12 months – with hopes to extend the link-up further thereafter.

To support the link-up, several members of staff will move across from Propaganda to Bang.

Propaganda joint managing director Laura Kynaston will also become a non-executive director on Bang’s board.

Propaganda, which has 50 employees, said the tie-up would allow it to focus on creative consultancy while Bang takes responsible for implementing creative work ranging from brochures and packaging to advertising campaigns and websites.

Ms Kynaston said: “Propaganda’s roots began in Huddersfield, so it is great to be forming a relationship with another local company and putting a significant amount of finance back into the business community.”

She said the partnership would enable Propaganda to focus on “high value” strategic and creative consultancy with the assurance of a dedicated and skilled team at Bang carrying out design and web-based work.

She added: “I am delighted that we have a partner in Bang that has a dedication to delivering quality work and a shared belief that the only creative work worth shouting about is the work that delivers tangible results for our clients.”

Bang marketing director Chris Garratt said: “Our relationship with Propaganda – and the high expectations that they have – clearly demonstrates the strength and quality of the work that we produce.

“The announcement marks an important step in Bang’s growth strategy, which will see us build our profile in the regional agency scene.

“The fees that will be generated over the next 12 months highlights the significance of the relationship as well as being very positive news for the region in such tough economic times.”

Over the past few years, Propaganda has focused more on the consulting side of its business. In 2007, the company launched Brand Multiple, a new division working with the financial and investor sector as well as private firms to increase the tangible value of their brands.

Among its projects, Propaganda has carried out advertising, design and PR camp-aigns for clients including vehicle fleet management group FMG Support, hair products brand GHD, French Connection, Spear & Jackson, Seabrook Crisps and bakery shop chain Greggs.

Propaganda is also the only UK strategic and creative agency to be awarded accreditation of the Management Consultancies Association.

Bang, which expects staffing levels to stand at 10 to 12 as a result of the tie-up, has worked for clients including Linthwaite-based pharmaceutical company Thornton & Ross, Halifax Bank of Scotland, NSPCC and the Home Office.
