A CRICKET conference at Huddersfield University is hoping to knock delegates for six!

The second annual Pennine Cricket Conference will feature an array of guest speakers from the game's grassroots.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 25, and Andrew Pearson, secretary and first team scorer at Thurstonland, will head the line-up.

He will talk about the development of cricket at the Marsh Hall Lane ground over the decades.

The event's organiser, Dr Peter Davies, will speak about the £50,000 Cricket Heritage Project, which is sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund and is running at the university.

Other speakers will look at the contributions of the Greetland, Illingworth and Walsden clubs.

Dr Davies said: "The conference is a great opportunity for local cricket enthusiasts.

We had a wonderful time last year."

Entry to the event is free.

The conference runs from 10am to 4pm and lectures are to be staged in ZG/20 West Building. For further information call 01484 472405.
