A HUDDERSFIELD college has been given a cash boost.
Alistair Keeble, of Zurich Insurance, presented Year 7 students at Moor End Technology College at Crosland Moor with certificates and a £1,000 cheque to acknowledge their efforts in a citizenship contest.
Students in the winning team who are in the photograph are Nafisa Hussain, Abdul Wahaab, Iqbal Saddiq, Hassina Kauser and Ashley Needham, with tutor Salma Azam (right).
Others who were part of the winning team were Mahnoor Shahzad, Khizar Akbar, Ebony Allison, Deanna Wood, Rebecca Whittle and Julia Holland. They were on a theme park visit to reward 100% attendance.
The focus of the competition was to design a programme of extracurricular activities on behalf of their community, with the intention of bringing the citizenship curriculum alive.
