A FATHER who was shopping with his two-year-old daughter was robbed and attacked by a group of six men.

West Yorkshire Police have now renewed their appeal for witnesses to the incident in Crosland Moor on May 18.

At around 2.30pm the 27-year-old local man was at Jat’s Store on Nabcroft Lane when he was confronted by the gang.

A black Ford Focus C-Max pulled up to the store and two other men became involved in the confrontation.

The father was assaulted by two of the men and had around £25 in cash taken from him.

Afterwards he was treated at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for cuts and bruises.

After the incident took place four of the suspects – described as black men in their late teens and early 20s wearing dark clothing and hooded tops – walked off along Nabcroft Road.

The driver of the Ford was a white man who was balding and wearing a red top. He also had a limp.

The passenger, who is believed to have taken part in the assault, was a black man and wore a hooded top and dark clothing.

He was captured on CCTV in the store before the incident.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises the suspect in the CCTV is asked to contact police.

It is believed that around five members of the public were in the store and could have witnessed the crime taking place.
