A WALK on the theme The Rocks and Landscapes of the Huddersfield Area will focus on Crosland Moor.

Alison Tymon, of the West Yorkshire Geology Trust, will lead the walk on Saturday, May 1.

It will start at 2pm at the Reception area for Johnson Wellfield Quarries, Thewlis Lane, Crosland Moor. The walk on public footpaths will reveal how the geology has formed the landscapes in the area and there will be several vantage points from which to see into the Crosland Hill quarries to see how the excellent local sandstone is quarried.

The free walk, organised by West Yorkshire Geology Trust and Kirklees Council, is around two miles in distance and will take approximately two hours.
