A WOMAN was forced to miss her court date – after being bitten by a police dog.

Sheena Muffitt, of College Street in Crosland Moor, was due before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

She admitted stealing from Bamforth’s scrapyard in Milnsbridge and was due to be sentenced.

But the Huddersfield bench was told that she had suffered a bad bite to her leg.

Her solicitor Bob Carr said: “I don’t know what she was doing or what she was climbing out of.

“The consequence has been that she has been fairly badly bitten.”

Magistrates agreed to adjourn Muffitt’s case until November 21.

They stated that she will need to provide medical evidence for her absence on that occasion.

The bench extended her conditional bail until this date.

The conditions are residence, a curfew between 7pm and 7am and that she does not enter the scrapyard.
