THOUSANDS of revellers are expected on the streets of Huddersfield today for the annual Carnival.

They will line the town centre streets for a glimpse of the spectacular parade as it wends its way through this afternoon.

But police warned drivers to expect delays, as many roads will be closed during the course of the afternoon.

The parade is due to leave the Hudawi Centre in Great Northern Street about 1.30pm and make its way through the town centre, including John William Street, New Street, Cloth Hall Street and Market Street.

It will then end in St George’s Square where there will be music, dance, stalls and sideshows.

The Carnival is due to return to Greenhead Park, its traditional home, next summer.
