THE case against a man accused of causing a dog unnecessary suffering has been set for trial. Simon Hellawell, 38, of Pennine Way, Clayton West, appeared before Huddersfield magistrates on two charges. He is alleged to have twice caused unnecessary suffering to a brown and white male Staffordshire bull terrier by failing to provide adequate nutrition and by failing to seek treatment from a vet. The case has been set for trial by the magistrates on Tuesday, October 30.
