DEATH in police custody is the subject of hard- hitting play due to be staged in Batley.
Silent Cry will see the only West Yorkshire performance during the tour by the Asian Theatre School.
The performance will take place at Batley Town Hall on Monday, September 27, followed by an after-show discussion.
The story follows a mother whose son is killed in jail.
It is written and directed by Madani Younis, whose Streets Of Rage articulated the stories of Bradford residents after the summer riots of 2001.
The new play follows the journey of the dead man's family as they seek justice.
Tickets, priced at £7 or £5 for concessions, are available from Kirklees Booking Office on 01484 223200 and the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on 01484 430528.
