A teenager breached his bail conditions after ringing his ex-girlfriend from prison.

Jack Haynes, 18, appeared before Kirklees Magistrates' Court yesterday.

He admitted breaching a restraining order made in June last year.

The order banned the teenager from contacting his former girlfriend and her young daughter.

However Haynes breached this order, which runs until July 2015, on two occasions.

The first time was on August 3 when Haynes called his ex from Doncaster prison using a mobile phone.

James Weekes, prosecuting, said that the girl then received a text from Haynes telling her to answer her phone as he had something to tell her.

Haynes, of no fixed address, called her again and she reported him to police.

For each of the breaches magistrates sentenced Haynes to 28 days in custody.

This will run concurrently with a prison sentence he is currently serving.
