OFFICIALS of a Huddersfield cycling club hope to get more people on their bikes.

The Huddersfield & District Cyclist Touring Club starts its Spring/Summer season of Tuesday evening cycle rides with a trip to Compo's Cafe from Honley on Tuesday, April 16, at 7pm.

There will then be a steady paced evening ride every Tuesday until mid September, starting at 7pm from various locations around Huddersfield. Each ride lasts 2-3 hours and always comes back to the starting point.

Any riders are welcome to come along, but must have a safe working bike, lights and warm clothing.

This year the club plans to include a very steady ride up Holme Moss, which is on the route of the Tour De France in Yorkshire in 2014.

There will also be an open ride in June as part of National Bike Week along the greenways in Kirklees.

All rides will be led by Alan Priim of Huddersfield & District CTC.
