FOUR cyclists have raised more than £600 for charity by travelling from coast to coast.

The quartet presented Kirkwood Hospice with a cheque for £660 after their three day ride from Cumbria to Sunderland.

Cyclist Rob Lomas from Pontefract said: "We're delighted to have raised so much."

Mr Lomas was joined on the trip by Andy and Steve Hunt from Cleckheaton and Dave Booth from Dalton.

Heather and Philip Smith from Netherthong drove the support vehicle carrying the cyclists' luggage.

Mr Lomas said they enjoyed the 150-mile journey.

He said: "We had a good time.

"We rode for five hours a day which was fairly intense but the weather was good, thankfully."

The journey took place between September 27 and 29.
