A CYCLIST was hurt in a road rage incident.

Now police are appealing for information after the man was injured on Leeds Road on Monday.

The incident happened about 5:30am when the 39-year old cyclist from Crosland Moor was cycling to work along Leeds Road in the direction of Huddersfield town centre. It is alleged that a small blue or silver coloured car pulled out of the McDonalds restaurant on Leeds Road and forced the cyclist to swerve.

An altercation took place between the cyclist and the occupants of the car, resulting in the car being driven at the cyclist and then away from the scene.

As a result, the man was was treated at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for cuts and bruises.

The occupants of the car are believed to be two mixed race men aged in their twenties. The passenger was described as having short dark hair.
