A WOMAN has been arrested after a cyclist was killed in a road tragedy.

The 38-year-old man riding the bike died after he was in collision with a VW Golf on Huddersfield Road, Ravensthorpe, at 9.20 last night.

The silver Golf was then in collision with a Vauxhall Cavalier.

Police say the Golf failed to stop at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 33-year-old Dewsbury woman was arrested at her home on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

"A VW Golf car has been seized for examination."

The woman was due to be questioned at Dewsbury police station today.

The cyclist has not yet been named while relatives were being told the tragic news. He comes from Ravensthorpe.

Huddersfield Road in Ravensthorpe was sealed off for several hours while police accident investigation experts worked at the scene.
