NEWLY-CONSTRUCTED sections of the Calder Valley Greenway will be explored in the latest Easy Rider cycle ride organised by Kirklees Council's culture and leisure services.

A 12-mile route will follow greenways, canal towpath or quiet country lanes, taking around three hours.

Anyone who would like to take part on Saturday, April 1, is invited to meet John Gleadow, Kirklees countryside access officer, outside the entrance to the pool at the Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield, at 10am. There will be a refreshment stop in Mirfield.

Anyone who does not have a cycle and would like to borrow one for the ride should contact Ken Roberts, of Huddersfield Cycle Touring Club, before the day on 01484 604157.
