HOMEMADE burgers and kebabs sizzled on the barbecue at one residential home.

Residents at Anchor’s Tolson Grange in Coach House Drive in Dalton invited their families over to tuck in while enjoying an evening of entertainment.

Manager Paula Brownhill said: “We hold regular barbecues and events each month choosing a different activity accordingly.

“We chatted with residents about their favourite foods and came up with the menu for today’s event.

“We organise a variety of events to stimulate the residents mentally and physically.

“We are already organising our next events – an Italian day, and our picnic away day with strawberries and sangria.

One resident summed up her feelings:

Hilda Briebach, 92, said: “I am happy living here because I have made some lovely friends, and we all enjoy our events and trips out together.”
