A 26-YEAR-OLD man has made his first appearance before a Crown Court judge following a fatal stabbing at a house in Huddersfield earlier this month.

Jermaine Coore, of Brock Bank, Dalton, was charged with the murder of 35-year-old Shaun Forde following an incident at a house in Gilbert Grove, Crosland Moor.

Mr Forde died from a single stab wound.

Coore has been remanded in custody at Doncaster Prison and his preliminary hearing at Bradford Crown Court was conducted via a video link with the prison.

The honorary recorder of Bradford Judge Stephen Gullick told Coore that his next hearing would take place on August 31.

A provisional trial date had been set for December 11.

There was no application for bail made on Coore's behalf and the judge ordered that he should remain in custody.

A second man, Tristan Coulson, 29, of Birkby Hall Road, Birkby, also appeared before Judge Gullick accused of assisting an offender arising out the same investigation.

His barrister John Elvidge successfully applied for bail on his behalf, but Judge Gullick directed he would have to live at an address in York and must only come into West Yorkshire to attend court.

Coulson must also report twice a week to York central police station and he must not contact named prosecution witnesses.
