A MAN has appeared before Kirklees magistrates after stealing from an Almondbury store.
Kevin Burns, of Ridgeway in Dalton, yesterday admitted stealing £70 of toiletries from the Co-op, Northgate, on April 4. The goods were not recovered.
The Huddersfield bench heard that the 33-year-old suffers from DVT in his legs and Crohn’s disease, which causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system.
His solicitor Mike Sisson-Pell said that the theft was a blip as Burns had recently kept out of trouble.
Magistrates gave him a community order, including a curfew for three months.
They also ordered Burns to pay £70 compensation.
