THE trial of a teenager accused of stabbing a talented young rugby league player has been adjourned until November.

Joshua Rowe was due to go on trial at Bradford Crown Court yesterday after being charged with wounding 17-year-old Luke Nelmes with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

But the 18-year-old’s three-day hearing has now been put back until November 7 after it emerged that a witness required in the trial was unavailable because he was abroad on holiday.

Judge Jonathan Rose told Rowe it was unfortunate that his trial could not go ahead and he had to take it out of the list.

Rowe, of Longfield Close, Dalton, was granted conditional bail to come back to the crown court in November.

Rowe is alleged to have stabbed Mr Nelmes during an incident on December 11 last year.

Mr Nelmes is a prop forward on the books of Super League club Bradford Bulls.
