DALTON sailor Chris Coe is one of the hostages in Iran.
Leading Seaman Coe, 31, was one of the 15 British sailors and Royal Marines captured at sea 12 days ago, the Examiner can reveal today.
And as diplomats stepped up moves to try and free the hostages, Mr Coe's family saw their son on TV, in footage released by the Iranian authorities.
His parents, Stephen and Christine, thanked people for their support at "a difficult time".
They said they were pleased to see him safe and well and said they were looking forward to getting him home.
Chris is a former student at Rawthorpe High School and joined the Royal Navy in 1993 after 18 months as an apprentic electrician.
