A Newsome man has appeared in court after ignoring his driving ban.
Daniel Trew, of Edale Avenue, pleaded guilty to charges of driving whilst disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.
Kirklees magistrates heard that police pulled over the 22-year-old’s Renault Clio near to his home on June 3.
Checks revealed that he was a banned driver, prosecutor Alex Bozman said.
Trew was banned from the road in November 2014 following a conviction for dangerous driving.
While his 18-month disqualification has ended, the textile worker is still banned.
This is because he needs to take an extended test before getting his licence back.
Magistrates sentenced him to a community order with 40 hours of unpaid work.
His licence will be endorsed with eight penalty points.
Trew also has to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.
