THE FUNERAL details for the Huddersfield soldiers who died in the bomb blast which killed six UK service personnel in southern Afghanistan have been announced.

Cpl Jake Hartley, 20, of New Mill, Pte Anton Frampton, 20, of Longwood, and Pte Christopher Kershaw, 19, of Bradford, died when their armoured vehicle was hit by a Taliban bomb.

Pte Daniel Wade, 20, of Warrington, Sgt Nigel Coupe, 33, of Lytham St Annes, and Pte Daniel Wilford, 21, of Cowlersley, were also killed in the blast on March 6.

The funerals will take place from April 27 to May 24.

Five of the men, including the trio of Huddersfield soliders, were serving with 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment.

Sgt Coupe was on secondment to the regiment from 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.

Cpl Hartley's funeral will take place at Christ Church, New Mill, Holmfirth on April 30.

Pte Frampton and Pte Wilford's funerals will both take place at Huddersfield Parish Church in the town centre on May 2 and 4 respectively.

Sgt Coupe's funeral will take place at St Annes Parish Church in St Annes on 27 April.

The funeral of Pte Kershaw, who was from Bradford, will take place on 24 May at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Idle, Bradford.

Pte Wade's funeral will take place at St Elphin Parish Church in his home town of Warrington in Cheshire on 11 May.
