A LOWERHOUSES man charged in connection with a drive-by shooting incident earlier this year has been told his trial will take place in a fortnight's time.

Kevin David Wilson, 36, of Oakenbank Crescent, appeared before Judge John Potter at Bradford Crown Court yesterday (TUES) for a pre-trial hearing. He was charged following an alleged shooting incident in the Ruth Street area of Newsome on the afternoon of March 26.

Wilson, who is currently on bail with a condition that he lives at an address outside West Yorkshire, has denied an allegation of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and a further charge of affray. Police sealed off Ruth Street after a single gunshot was allegedly fired from a silver-coloured car. Judge Potter was told that Wilson's trial could last up to six days.

The trial is listed to start on July 17 and Judge Potter extended Wilson's conditional bail until that date.
