ANOTHER Huddersfield man has gone missing.

And the sudden disappearance of Ken Howarth means that three families are going through the anguish of not knowing.

Mr Howarth, 45, vanished in Crosland Moor on December 27.

His disappearance is now being investigated by West Yorkshire Police, who are already looking for Scholes man Neil Bryson, 50, and Bradley pensioner Bernard Hallas.

Mr Howarth was last seen at about 9.30am on Thursday December 27.

He is white, of average build, with short light brown hair and a goatee beard. He has a number of tattoos.

When he was last seen he was wearing a green waxed jacket, a blue jumper with vertical lines, blue jeans and a black and grey beanie hat. He was carrying a black/blue rucksack.

Officers are concerned for his welfare and would like to hear from anyone who has seen someone fitting the description. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 1432 of December 29.

A worried daughter of one of the missing men, Mrs Andrea Gill, once had little time for mobile phones.

But since her beloved 84-year-old father Bernard Hallas went missing, hers has become her best friend.

Every time it trills she hopes against hope that it is the police with some good news although, as he was last seen on December 18, she knows the chances of seeing him alive are remote.

And now that a third Huddersfield man has been notified missing by West Yorkshire Police she has revealed the heartache of living without closure.

Mrs Gill said: “It’s difficult to put into words. It’s just been awful especially with Christmas. Obviously we didn’t feel like celebrating the new year.

“You are just waiting for the phone to ring. I can’t do without my mobile phone, just hoping it will ring.

“I know it’s not going to be good news is it? I want the body back and to find out what happened.

“You cross your fingers but he has been gone over two weeks now.

“I haven’t been able to go back to work since this happened.

“I work at the leisure centre in Slaithwaite and you have to be happy and jolly for that.

“The police have been very good and ring me every day to update me. It’s hard but you just have to get on with your daily life.”

Mr Hallas, of Bradley, was last seen on December 18.

He had caught a bus from Huddersfield to Marsden but stayed on the vehicle or its return journey to the bus station.

CCTV images later showed him walking down High Street and Ramsden Street into Wakefield Road at Aspley.

He has various ailments and no medication.

The first missing man was Neil Bryson, a married, father-of-two, of Scholes.

The healthcare professional has not been seen since November 27 despite a huge amount of time being devoted to finding him including helicopters and mountain rescue teams.

His car was found parked at Yateholme reservoir but an underwater search by police divers found nothing in the reservoir.

And now police have revealed they are also searching for Ken Howarth.

All three men could not be more different but all their disappearances leave desperate families waiting for that elusive phone call.
