A Berry Brow man made abusive phone calls to a council worker in frustration over problems with his property.
David Hubbard, of Caldercliffe Road, pleaded guilty to racially-aggravated harassment when he appeared before Kirklees magistrates.
The court heard that the victim of the abuse, Paul Hertzberg, works for Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing.
The service had experienced ongoing problems with Hubbard and this resulted in him making a number of angry phone calls between April 24 and May 1.
James Weekes, prosecuting, said: “There were a series of messages left on the voicemail machine in the office.
“In one message he said: ‘You fat b*****d, try and lose some weight.
‘Get off your fat a**e and do some work for a change’.”
In one Hubbard, 49, referred to a hole in his roof and made a racist remark.
He accused staff of not bring trained properly to do their job in another message.
Magistrates heard that Hubbard had previous convictions for threatening behaviour on his record.
They were told that he has been living in council properties for the last 25 years.
During this time Hubbard has had three homes and there have been issues with repairs and maintenance.
He recently complained about some damp in his living room, magistrates heard.
Rachel Smith, mitigating, said: “The circumstances have come to a head, there has been an inspection at the address and Mr Hubbard left the messages.
“There are issues with anger and when he sees red he can not control what comes out of his mouth.
“He fully accepts his behaviour is not acceptable.”
Magistrates ordered a full report before sentencing him on August 1.
He was granted unconditional bail.
