STEEL worker David Norcliffe was a happy man today after becoming the third winner of the Examiner's Crazy Cash competition.

The call telling him he had landed £500 came as he was at work.

And the cash couldn't have come at a handier time.

David, of Lockwood, said: "The money is spoken for already. My daughter Corrina is 19 next month and my son Conrad has his 21st in March so it will go on them. It's come at just the right time."

David, who is divorced, used his mobile to phone in the correct answer to the competition question in yesterday's Examiner.

He had already entered the Crazy Cash giveaway on the first two days and is planning to try his luck again tonight.

David was at work in Elland when our competition organisers contacted him last night about his windfall.

"I was on my coffee break when the phone went and I was told," he said.

"I thought it was a joke at first. When I realised it was serious, I was very happy."

Delighted David received his £500 today from Examiner customer reception manager Marcia Kelly.
