ACTIVITIES and healthy food were part of a special day for children at Fixby Junior and Infant School.
Six children, who are members of the School Council’s Keeping Children Healthy sub-committee, organised the event.
They led playground exercises, created word searches and encouraged their peers to create collages of bowls of fruit.
The committee also liaised with the school kitchen to create a healthy lunch which was supplemented with home made dips and vegetable sticks and fruit smoothies.
Many ingredients were supplied free of charge by Asda.
In the afternoon committee members led a healthy assembly, including dance, skipping and athletic displays.
