MOTORCYCLISTS will be circling around Dewsbury on Saturday to celebrate International Women's Day.

Female riders will be getting on their bikes to form a parade around the town as part of Dewsbury's Women Together festival.

The festival is one of a series of events being held around Kirklees to mark International Women's Day, which was on March 8.

International Women's Day was first held in Germany, Austria and Denmark in March 1911 and celebrates women's lives and achievements and aims to bring women from different communities together.

The Women Together festival starts at 11am and finishes at 4.30pm.

As well as the motorcycle parade - organised by members of local motorbike groups - there will be a variety of events at Dewsbury Town Hall.

These include massage, alternative therapies, creative workshops, plus food and refreshments.

Some of the activities are free, while others require a small donation

towards women's refuges and refugee groups in the Dewsbury area.
