A FAMILY fun day at Oakwell Hall Country Park on Sunday, August 3, will combine celebrations for Yorkshire Day and the National Year of Food and Farming.
Activities and crafts in and around the Visitor Centre Barn will include countryside pursuits such as welly-wanging and the traditional Yorkshire game knurr and spell.
There will also be a display of farm machinery, a beer tent with Yorkshire beer, a hog roast, a 'veggie' food stall and the chance to buy Yorkshire produce at a Farmers’ Market.
The Grange Moor Brass Band will provide entertainment.
In addition families can follow a scarecrow trail around the country park and visit the local farm, travelling to the farm on the back of a trailer pulled by a tractor.
The fun day runs from 11am to 4pm and is free. Car parking is free.
