TIME has run out for women wanting to take part in Huddersfield's Race for Life.

All the 5,000 places have been snapped up in record time for the event on June 17 and 18.

It has taken just 10 weeks for all the places to be taken for the five-kilometre (three miles) fundraising event in Greenhead Park, leaving organisers Cancer Research UK amazed.

Emma Young, Huddersfield's race organiser said: "I'm delighted this year's race is so popular.

"I hope all those women who have a place are on their way to raising lots of sponsorship to help us reach our £360,000 target and are looking forward to the day."

Women who still want to take part but cannot enter the race in Huddersfield can register for races in Bradford and Oldham, where there are still places left.

There are 240 races taking place across the UK, hoping to bring 750,000 women together.
