A DEAF man has appeared in court accused of assault.

Dean Stanton, 21, has pleaded guilty to assaulting Siobhan Keogh at Brownroyd Avenue, Rawthorpe, on March 11.

Stanton, of Elizabeth Gardens in Stanmore, Middlesex, appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

Magistrates heard that case had not progressed because of difficulties finding a sign language interpreter. The case was adjourned until October 18 for a pre-sentence report.

Dean’s bail conditions were extended. These are that he lives and sleeps at the address given and complies with his curfew order. He is also banned from contacting witnesses and entering Brownroyd Avenue.
