A MAN arrested after a death crash on the M62 on suspicion of drink-driving has been bailed.

The 29-year-old Doncaster man - who was driving a BMW Z4 sports car - has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

His car was in collision with a Vauxhall Vectra, which then careered into a lamp-post on the eastbound carriageway, about half-a-mile from the Outlane junction, just after 3.20am yesterday.

The Vectra driver, a 28-year- old Bradford man, was cut from the wreckage by firefighters, but died.

He has not yet been named.

His passenger, a 28-year-old man from Coventry, was flung from the car and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Police sealed off two lanes of the motorway while accident investigation experts worked at the scene.

The closure caused large tailbacks stretching back to Junction 20, near Rochdale.
