POLICE and forensic experts were today still carrying out tests inside a house where two people died.

The house in Fernside Avenue, Almondbury, remained sealed off - four days after the bodies of two women were found in a bedroom.

The women are believed to be Samantha Jessop, 38, and her daughter Becky, 20.

But detectives investigating the deaths as part of a murder inquiry have so far been unable to confirm their identities.

There had been a fire in the house.

A 32-year-old man who was found in the house has now been arrested.

He spent three days in hospital after the incident but is now in custody and is to be interviewed by detectives.

A police spokesman said: "There are more tests to be carried out at the house and it could be several more days before we finish our examinations there.

"We are also awaiting results for positive identification of the two people who died in the incident."

Police have carried out extensive house to house inquiries in Almondbury and are appealing for anyone who can help to come forward.
