A PROBE into a fatal road accident has switched to Holland.

Police investigating the tragedy which claimed the life of a 64-year-old Dewsbury woman and her pet dog believe a lorry involved is registered with a Dutch company and had come from Holland.

Maureen Tracey, of Wakefield Road, Earls- heaton, died when she was struck by the lorry and a van on Wakefield Road, Chickenley, Dewsbury, at its junction with Bywell Road, at 1pm on Monday.

The dark-coloured articulated lorry did not stop, but the Toyota Hiace van did.

Police inquiries have led them to appeal for possibly important witnesses to come forward.

Pc Neil Hirst, of Dewsbury traffic police, said: "We have spoken to a man who did not see the accident but arrived a moment or two later.

"As he arrived at the scene he saw a dark green Vauxhall Frontera, with a male driver and possibly one or two female passengers, parked at the junction of Syke Lane.

"We would like them to contact us."
