A MAN who was jailed for threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend’s new partner, died from a heroin overdose the day after being released from prison.
Sean Jenkinson, 30, of Daw Royds, Almondbury, was found dead at a friend’s flat on Birkhouse Lane, Almondbury, on August 8, Huddersfield Coroner’s Court heard yesterday.
The inquest heard Jenkinson, who was jailed for three years in 2009, had been drinking with friends following his release from prison.
Jenkinson, also known as Sean Querns, was found dead alongside drug paraphernalia by a friend the following day, the court was told.
Coroner Peter Straker recorded a verdict of accidental death, noting that Jenkinson may have died from a reduced tolerance to heroin having abstained from the drug while in jail.
In August 2009, Jenkinson threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend’s new partner and police were so concerned that an armed response unit was sent out to intercept him.
He was detained on Wakefield Road, Waterloo, and found to be in possession of four kitchen knives and a lock-knife.
