VANDALS struck at a Huddersfield soft furnishings shop.

A display window at Decor 80, Westbourne Road, Marsh, was damaged when an object was thrown at the building.

Police are investigating the incident, which happened at about 12.30am Friday morning.

Rahana Frith, who works at the shop, said it was the second time in the past two years that a window had been damaged.

She said: “It will cost £400 for a new window. That’s our profits down again. Small traders cannot afford this.”

“Some neighbours said they heard a noise and came out to investigate.

“One man chased a figure running away, but he disappeared down an alley.

“The window is made of toughened glass and seems to have been struck twice.”
