A POLICE raid on a Deighton house led to the discovery of more than £800 worth of crack cocaine, nearly £1,000 in cash and a stun gun.

Gregory Crawley, 21, was yesterday jailed for 30 months after he admitted possessing 11.78 grams of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a weapon.

Bradford Crown Court heard how officers executed a search at Crawley’s home in Colne Hurst last October and recovered the drugs and the stun gun.

His barrister Adam Birkby said Crawley had previously been a hard-working apprentice but had fallen in with others and was left “holding the baby”.

He added that the stun gun had been bought a long time ago as a novelty item.

The judge told Crawley that he was still a young man who had no real experience of the law and he had got himself involved at the deep end.

“Drugs destroy people,” the judge told Crawley. “You could see the effect that drug dealing was having on people and I am sure the public demand a serious response to this.

“You’ve come clean and there is perhaps hope if you will listen to your family that you won’t return to this offending.”

The judge warned Crawley that he could face a sentence between seven and ten years if he was caught drug dealing again.
