A YOUNG man arrested in connection with a firework attack which allegedly resulted in a dog's death will find out if he is to face charges just before Christmas.

The 19-year-old, from Linthwaite, was detained and questioned about the death of a Yorkshire terrier called Emmie.

It is alleged she died after a firework was strapped to her on Gilroyd Lane, Linthwaite, at 10.50pm on Thursday, October 27.

She was owned by Keith and Maureen Barrington.

The 19-year-old will answer police bail on December 20.
