A PLANNED three-day strike by thousands of workers at distribution centres which deliver goods to Morrisons supermarkets was called off today.

About 4,000 members of the GMB and the Transport and General Workers unions were due to walk out tomorrow in a row over threats to jobs.

The GMB said the industrial action had been called off, pending further talks with the company.

The two sides have been holding negotiations over threatened redundancies.

The talks will continue on Tuesday, October 11.
