RESIDENTS are being invited to a discussion about home care and independent living.

The item will be top of the agenda at the next meeting of the Mirfield, Denby Dale and Kirkburton Town and Valley Committee.

Councillors asked for a presentation on the issue to help explain the changes to the public.

Committee chairman, Clr Adrian Murphy, said: “We hope that people can come along to the next meeting as we are discussing the changes and future of home care and how we can best support people to live independently.

“This is an issue that will affect many of us and we thought it would be of interest to many people living in the area.”

The meeting will also consider the purchase of a speed detection sign for use around Denby Dale and Kirkburton.

The meeting is in the reception room at Huddersfield Town Hall at 7.30pm, on Monday, July 18.

This is the first meeting of the town and valley committee in the current municipal year and future meetings will also feature presentations .
