RESIDENTS are fighting to block a wind turbine on a farm outside Huddersfield.

Ten villagers have objected to Kirklees Council about the proposed windmill at Nether End Farm in Denby Dale.

Andrew Chappell has asked for permission to put up the double-bladed 11-kilowatt turbine.

But villagers have asked Kirklees to refuse permission for the 25-metre high windmill.

Their objections include:

The turbine would be “visually intrusive”

The windmill would be sited near Grade II listed farm buildings

Residents living near the site would suffer from noise pollution

The turbine would have a detrimental effect on green belt land.
