A HUDDERSFIELD man is taking over as master of ceremonies at a weekly dance.
Derek Fairbank will make his debut at St Mary’s Social Club and Parochial Hall in Batley this afternoon.
He will take over from Fred Collier, of Thornhill in Dewsbury, who passed away recently.
Club secretary Denis Walsh said: “Fred and his wife Hilda were extremely well liked by all the dancers and finding a replacement has not been easy.
“However, I’m confident that Derek will be a big success.”
The dance starts at 2pm and admission is £2.50.
