DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Jasem Asakerh yesterday said inquiries were ongoing.

The 28-year-old was shot by a lone gunman while he sat in the back of a black Audi Q7 on Brook Street, Thornton Lodge, at around 3.45am on Friday.

Iranian-born Mr Asakerh died from a chest wound.

Mr Asakerh, who moved to the UK in 2003, had lived in Lockwood but was believed to be living in Birkby just before his death.

Police think he had been visiting strip clubs on the night he was shot.

Another passenger, 26, was also injured in the shooting but escaped with cuts and grazes.
